[comp.protocols.appletalk] where am I being dense?

evan@ndcheg.cheg.nd.edu (Evan Bauman) (07/28/88)

Thought by now I could install this stuff with my eyes closed!

I'm trying to get lwsrv up and running on a Sun 3/160 with
a Sun Laserwriter attached via a serial port. The Adobe transcript
package has been installed with all the usual filters
specified in /etc/printcap. We're running SunOS 3.4.

I copied over atis and lwsrv. I also made a new /etc/atalk.local.
It looks like atis starts up without a problem. However,
when I start up lwsrv, I get an

lwsrv: SLInit failed: -1027

at the end of the log file. It also looks like the laserwriter
spooler is registered with NBP (i.e. it shows up in the chooser
on a mac), but there is no daemon running on the Sun and print jobs
will fail.

Please, can someone point out where I'm being thick!!

Thanks in advance (especially to Charlie!)
