There was a recent discussion on LocalTalk connections for PCs and using AppleShare. If you want to use AppleShare you should buy Apple's card, because AppleShare PC does not support other cards at the time being. There are two possible reasons: Either Apple specifically tests for there card, or Apple checks for availability of the session protocol, which I assume is not implemented in the FlashCard driver.
