I have been struggling through the installation of KIP/CAP and not having
any luck in the process. All I want to be able to do initially is allow
our Sun 4 to print on our LaserWriter, but after what I think is a correct
installation, atlook and atlooklws do not find any Appletalk devices.
This is our current configuration: We have two KFPS 4's running K-Star
code. One box has been assigned IP address 192.9.200.128 and the other
192.9.200.129. The Appletalk segments have been numbered 1 and 2, while
the ethertalk segment has been numbered 3. There is one zone called backbone.
The Sun host has an IP address of 192.9.200.1. After reading the information
that comes with KIP and CAP, I have set up the following atalk.local file:

I am pretty sure that this file is correct. For my atalkatab, I have the

I'm a little fuzzy about the contents of this file, or if it is even
necessary since I'm running K-Star and not KIP in my kbox's. I was
told that KIP is only for KFPS 2's and 3's, but do I need KIP to run
CAP? My impression is that all I need from KIP is atalk.local, but
do I also need atalkad and atalkatab?
I would love to hear from someone who have CAP 5.0 running on a Sun 4
under SunOS 3.2 (soon to be 4.0), or anybody who is an expert at installing
CAP period.
