I hope I don't have some of the acronyms wrong, this is from memory. We have a KFPS-I that was upgraded with the new rom about a year ago. Kinetics now offers an additional upgrade that apparently provides an even newer rom, and a little extra memory. We currently run KIP/CAP with no great problem. The main services we use are AUFS file service, telnet terminal emulation, and laserwriter support in both directions (Mac-> Unix, Unix->Appletalk). If I have things straight, the new rom would force us to run KSTAR instead of KIP. Now the question. Is there significant advantage in doing the upgrade? It sounds like there are some KSTAR/CAP problems right now. -- Ken Mandelberg | km@mathcs.emory.edu PREFERRED Emory University | {decvax, gatech}!emory!km UUCP Dept of Math and CS | km@emory NON-DOMAIN BITNET Atlanta, GA 30322 | Phone: (404) 727-7963
