[comp.protocols.appletalk] NCSA Telnet 2.2 oddity

corwin@daedalus.UUCP (-David C. Kovar) (12/06/88)

Fire up a copy of NCSA Telnet 2.2 on a Mac. Try to open a connection
to hostname;hostname2. Now look at the connections menu.

If I open a connection to daedalus;icarus I find connections listed for
daedalus and icarus in the Connections menu. If I select "daedalus"
it says that "daedalus;icarus" is currently being looked up. If I
select "icarus", nothing happens.

Hardly what you'd call a bug, but ....

... and if you open a connection to "-X" or "X/X" you get other
effects. The hostname string is being passed to the Mac Menu Manager
without regard to content so the embedded chicken-tracks have the
effect described in 'Inside Mac'.
