We've set up KIP/CAP to work properly on a SUN-4. I'm now trying to extend our CAP services to include a Micro-Vax running Ultrix 2.2, on the same ethernet as the SUN-4. After the standard installation, the new server (wubcl) appears as expected on the list of file servers in Appleshare, but after giving my password, I get the message: "The connection to this server has been unexpectedly broken [-1072]" and the aufs log file that has been created is: 06040* 09:04:12 12/15/88 **************************************** 06040* 09:04:12 12/15/88 Apple Unix File Server (wubcl:AFPServer@*) starting 06040* 09:04:12 12/15/88 Aufs version: 3(2) as of May 2, 1988 06040* 09:04:12 12/15/88 10 sessions allowed 06040* 09:04:12 12/15/88 CONFIGURATION 06040* 09:04:12 12/15/88 Configured: FLOCK 06040* 09:04:12 12/15/88 Configured: LOCKF 06040* 09:04:12 12/15/88 Configured: Volume space information: getmnt 06040* 09:04:12 12/15/88 using old style (Ultrix 1.2, 2.0) getmnt 06040* 09:04:12 12/15/88 Configured: Melbourne (BSD) quota system 06040* 09:04:12 12/15/88 Configured translation tables are: 06040* 09:04:12 12/15/88 ascii: xlate on: suffix <any> and file type TEXT, creator unix 06040* 09:04:18 12/15/88 Aufs Starting (wubcl) 06040* 09:04:18 12/15/88 SPInit Completed. Can anybody explain this to me and suggest how I may work around it? It is not machine-dependent because I've tried the installation on more than one ULTRIX machine. Is it ULTRIX, network-related, or KIP/CAP-related. If it makes any difference (just grabbing at straws), these ULTRIX machines also run DECNET. But that shouldn't matter, yes??
