[net.jobs] Wanted: Unix Systems Programmer

lepreau (05/27/82)

The University of Utah Computer Science Dept. needs a systems programmer to
support several Vaxen running Berkeley Unix. Machines are used for research
projects in the areas of Computer Graphics/Computer Aided Design, VLSI,
asynchronous computation and others. Responsibilities include general system
support, development of local software, and interface of systems to a broadband
local area network and several packet switched networks. Should have a
thorough knowledge of Unix internals.

In addition to several Vaxen, the facility operates a DECSystem 2060 on both
the Arpanet and Telenet networks, as well as many smaller machines.

The Univ. of Utah is located in Salt Lake City on the western slope of the
Wasatch mountains, which provide outstanding winter and summer recreation,
including fantastic skiing within 30 minutes of the University. Housing is
very reasonably priced and plentiful within minutes of the U. Although much of
Utah is desert the state is by no means dry, despite rumors to the contrary.
Comprehensive benefits are provided including liberal tuition credit, and
part-time grad student status may be possible.
