We have a small supply of PhoneNet type boxes, (about 25). The brand name is Compunet, the supplier is Trimar U.S.A. Inc. (based in New York city). The cost per unit of each communications box was a lot lower than PhoneNet from Farallon, however the boxes have been less than reliable. When a network box fails, we take it apart and do some basic voltage checks on it, and come up with nothing. Has anyone had experience with Compunet/Trimar, and have you found out why the boxes fail from time to time? The really strange thing is a box can work fine if it's put back on a network, however some fail a second time. The symptoms of failure consist specifically of what looks like a regular break in connection, but nothing is unplugged from the box. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
