Does TOPS work between LocalTalk and Ethernet systems (e.g., Macintosh SE and Sun-3 systems) through a KFPS-4 running K*? If your are using TOPS with K* configured by atalkad, please let me know. Thanks. I trust the consensus of USENET participants more than most sales representatives. For those of you who might not know about TOPS, I should point out that it allows disk volumes of a Macintosh to be available to remote TOPS network hosts while the Macintosh is being used to run other programs, even without Multifinder. I don't know if AppleShare provides this level of functionality. Gary Crum University of Southern California

We run Ethertalk, and Localtalk with TOPS on our Sun, PC's and Mac's. They all play together. I have atalkad running and it keeps the Kbox's running KSTAR in line to some extent. Now if Kinetics will just release a KSTAR that support SNMP! I was told that Kinetics is listening and will support SNMP. The plans will include an augmented LanRanger to look at it all as well. Edward A.
