We have some Sun 3/50's in our office, plus a mac and an Apple laserwriter. We would like to set things up so that we can use the laserwriter to print from either the Sun network (NFS) or the mac (which has had no communications hardware or software added to it), but we want to spend zero money on it. I have been told that the quickest and cheapest solution is to plug both the mac and a sun into the laserprinter, then flip its switch from one port to the other, depending on which machine we want to print stuff from at the moment. If anyone knows of another (extremely inexpensive) way to do this -- especially one where we won't have to manually flip switches, I would appreciate your advice. I understand that this message will be posted on a bulletin board, but please send replies directly to me, as I cannot get to the bulletin board Thank you Renee Mattie Department of Chemistry University of Pennsylvania mattie@a.chem.upenn.edu Philadelphia, PA 19104-6323
