> Where can I ftp SU/MacIP ?

You can't. SU-Mac/IP is distributed on disk to organizations that
sign a license agreement for its use (universities and research
organizations only). You can find out about obtaining a license by
sending a request to "macip@jessica.stanford.edu" (or
"macip%jessica@stanford.bitnet").

We are now distributing minor (ie, bug-fix) versions of SU-PC/IP and
SU-Mac/IP for free (!) to existing licensees. You can get a new
version by sending us your original distribution disks, which we will
return to you with the new software. You can find out about the
current version by sending a request to the appropriate address
("macip@jessica.stanford.edu" or "pcip@jessica.stanford.edu"). The
current version of SU-Mac/IP is 3.04.

(And before you fire up the flame-throwers, please note that our
restrictive policies are our technology-licensing people's idea, not
mine.)

After my previous message about access to SU-Mac/IP, I have been
reminded of a couple of items.

1. I said:

Actually, we license for a token sum only to "degree-granting
educational institutions", not normally to research institutions.
Non-degree-granting organizations are encouraged to inquire about
licensing the software (for a non-token sum, usually).

2. Kinetics' "Hostaccess" software product for the Macintosh is a
commercial (and Kinetics-enhanced) version of SU-Mac/IP. Contact your
Kinetics dealer for details.

Of course, there are other packages with very similar functionality,
most notably NCSA Telnet for the Macintosh, which *is* available for
anonymous FTP from host ftp.ncsa.uiuc.edu.
