Readers,

A number of people have asked whether and where archives might be
available. Beginning with April, 1989, the postings from the last month will be
available. Other requests for archives should be addressed to
"info-appletalk-requests@andrew.cmu.edu."

The archives are available in the directory "pub/info-appletalk" on the
host lancaster.andrew.cmu.edu (128.2.13.21). The are compressed tar files.

Within the same directory, users can find a short list of ftp sites,
where the latest version of several applications might be found. The name of the
file si "ftp.sites." The contents of the list is this (so far):

KIP: sumex-aim.stanford.edu (36.44.0.6)
CAP: cunixc.cc.columbia.edu (128.59.40.130)
Macdump: mikey.bbn.com (128.89.0.148)
CITI MACIP: citi.umich.edu (35.1.128.16)
NCSA telnet: zaphod.ncsa.uiuc.edu (128.174.25.50)
topsterm: orstcs.cs.orst.edu (128.193.32.1)
macps/prepfix: sumex-aim.stanford.edu (36.44.0.6)

Is this correct, and is it complete?

Also, Dan Tappan's "kboot" utility is available in the same directory,
in compressed tar format.

To unpack these files follow these steps:

# Uncompressing foo.tar.Z

uncompress foo.tar

# unpack tar file

tar xvf foo.tar

If there are any suggestions for improving the service, please feel free
to send these suggestions to "info-appletalk-request..."
