Howdy, I am interested in networking our Macs to a Ethernet network of Suns, Symbolics', TI Explorers, an IBM RT, and an HP 9000) running IP/TCP and to a lonely Compaq 386. Two of our Mac II's have EtherTalk. I would prefer to use EtherTalk as the connection to the Ethernet network and not to purchase a hardware box such as a Kinetics FastPath. At the minimum, I need to be able to do file transfer (such as with FTP). Optimally, I would like transparent access to each machine's file system, access to the Mac LaserWriter from the Unix workstations, and mail exchange between all machines. Am I asking too much? What's the best AppleTalk networking software to use for which third parties offer software to link into IP/TCP, AppleShare? TOPS? I need something compatible with a multi-user 4th Dimension database. What solutions are there for connecting the PC to AppleTalk? Thanks in advance. Eric Preyss IntelliCorp GmbH Munich, W.
