The Bell Labs - Western Electric facility at Allentown, Pennsylvania has an opening for a Technical Reference Librarian. The primary responsibilities are acquisitions and reference services. We provide traditional online literature searching and are active in developing new electronic library services for our users. Virtually all standard library functions have been automated. Requirements are: - M.L.S. from an A.L.A. accredited library school and an undergraduate degree in Engineering or a Physical Science. Highly relevant experience might be acceptable in place of the standard majors at the undergraduate level. - Experience with on-line literature searching (especially Chemical Abstracts) and/or C programming. - Reference and acquisitions experience.
