Colorado State University has tenure track positions in all ranks in Computer Science. Candidates need a Ph.D and a strong background in core areas of computer science. Area of research specialization is open. Specific needs exist in hardware, architecture, graphics, data bases, computational complexity, and parallel computing to complement the department's research focus in concurrency in the broad sense including distributed and vector computing and software. Senior ranks require distinguished research records. CSU offers baccalaureate through doctoral degrees in computer science. The university has two CYBER 720's and a CYBER 205 two pipeline vector supercomputer. The department has a VAX-11/750, numerous microcomputers, and access to a Denelcor HEP multiprocessor system. CDC has located its Center for Applied Vector Technology on campus. Fort Collins is a growing community of 75,000 located along the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, 60 miles north of Denver. It has a moderate climate with less than 15 inches of precipitation per year, an active cultural life, and year long outdoor activities.
