[comp.protocols.appletalk] Does MacTCP support SLIP?

jay@mitisft.Convergent.COM (Jay O'Conor) (06/23/89)

The subject line pretty much says it all. Does MacTCP support SLIP?
If not, does MacTCP use a mechanism similar to the LAP Manager for AppleTalk
to allow for different Link Access Protocols (so someone could do a SLIP
implementation)?

Umm, gosh, that must be news to the MacTCP engineering group...

MacTCP does internally use something like the LAP manager, so in
theory SLIP could be added down the road, but it sure doesn't do
it now.
