We are in the process of changing from a class C network (192.12.19) to a class B subnetted network (131.215) with the subnet spanning the usual 3rd byte. We are running KIP 06/88 in a KFPS-2 with ROM revision 3.00. After the changeover, the KFPS acts as if it is on an unsubnetted Class B network. NCSA telnet 2.2 and MacIP 3.0 both can reach nodes on 131.215.139 (the KFPS's subnet) and anywhere not on 131.215 They can not reach nodes on any other subnet of 131.215 The subnet mask is set in both NCSA telnet and MacIP to FFFFFF00 The only thing slightly unusual is that during the changeover 192.12.19 and 131.215.139 are coexistent on the same ethernet cable. The gateways on 131.215.139 are supposed to accept directed broadcasts at 131.215.139.255 Here are the original class C files that worked, and the class B files that don't. Any help in tracking this problem would be appreciated! The class B atalk.local is on the left, the class C atalk.local on the right. ---------- # mynet mynode myzone # mynet mynode myzone 55.139 100 Ether9 55.19 100 Ether9 # bridgenet bridgenode bridgeIP #bridgenet bridgenode bridgeIP 55.139 131 131.215.139.131 55.19 131 192.12.19.131 ---------- The following is the new class B atalkatab ---------- # changed 9/21/89, go to class B subnet 131.215.139 55.139 N1 131.215.139.0 Ether9 #CIT citnet subnet 9 56.1 KC 131.215.139.131 MacLab #CIT MacLab, Back room I131.215.139.255 I192.12.18.1 #ipbroad ipname I131.215.139.100 L0 #ipdebug ipfile (No server yet!)
