I'm setting up a fairly small (10 machine) AppleShare network and want to take the pain out of printing. I know plenty of people with AppleShare, but nobody I know has used LaserShare (the AppleShare Print Spooler software). Some questions: Is LaserShare robust? Is there anything better which will work on top of an AppleShare network? Is it even a good idea to use a server-based spooler rather than background printing in Multifinder (memory and speed will not be a problem on the node machines; they'll all be IIci's with 5 megs of RAM; the printer will be a DataProducts 1260PS or something akin)? I'll also be running QuickMail 2.x on the server, but not using it as a bridge to other email systems (so it can run in the background). It's been difficult getting any concrete information on print spooling in any of the Mac literature out there (other than that it exists), so I'm hoping the collective experience of netters can give me the advice I need. Please respond either by email or to the net; I'll post a summary if there's sufficient interest. Thanks!
