[comp.protocols.appletalk] Serial Line vs lwsrv font differences on IINT

hurf@batcomputer.tn.cornell.edu (Hurf Sheldon) (11/22/89)

Some files containing Symbol, Greek and possibly some others
will print correctly if spooled directly to a laserwriter or created
with 'command f' and sent via a serial line to a laserwriter
but when spooling to lwsrv some of the characters are printed
incorrectly - My font file has 'Symbol' and '|______Symbol'
	in it -...

suggestions, solutions, hints?

Thanks,
hurf sheldon

lwsrv is not (in the stock distributed version) 8 bit transparent.
Characters with the 8th bit set need to be quoted before sending
them off to the laserwriter. Someone (?) posted a patch for this
not too long ago. I may still have my copy if no one comes forward
to claim the honor of the patch...
