Did anyone experience this too? We have a MacII as an AppleShare server with one internal SCSI disk and 4 external SCSI devices (2 HD and 2 CDROM). Copying file from workstation disk to an Appleshare volume completed, but the file in the server got corrupted. Disinfectant1.5 didn't show any sign of virus. A scary thought of a new virus came to mind. But .... Further examination revealed that too many external SCSI devices exposed more noise which cause data corruption when the AppleShare server write to the SCSI hard disk. With three external SCSI devices, the problem disappeared given that the terminator is placed on the empty connector of the last SCSI device instead of at the end of the last connecting cable just before the last SCSI device (as instructed by the manual that comes with the SCSI cable). Internal hard disk has SCSI terminator. Any word on limitation on connecting SCSI devices is appreciated. Andy Maas Stanford University
