I would like to run AUFS (CAP's AppleShare file server) on a Next. All our Macintoshes have ethernet cards (or SCSI/ethernet adapters) and sit directly on ethernet. Our printers all reside on a localtalk network. Ethernet and LocalTalk are currently bridged with Liason, running on a MacII. I have a couple of questions for you CAP people: 1) Has anyone set up CAP for the Next? 2) Is KIP really necessary to run CAP (or at least AUFS)? 3) Is a Kinetics box really necessary for CAP, and if so, will a FastPath II do the job? (One is readily available to me.) I got part way through the installation on the Next, but not being a Unix type I got bogged down. Specifically, I couldn't get one of the diff files to patch back together, and a couple of files required by the make files were missing (a 680x0 assembler, I think). I'm using CAP 5.0 (May 1988). I got the diff shar file from SUMEX. It is dated Feb 9, 1989 (I couldn't find a real version number). Lee Ankeny Los Alamos National Lab laa@lanl.gov (505)665-0195
