A close friend of mine is looking for summer employment. She is blind, and this accounts for her relative lack in previous experience; nevertheless, she worked as a programmer in PL/I at IBM last summer, and she is capable of work as a programmer if a voice synthesizer is available. She is a junior majoring in Psychology at Yale, and her interests lie more in terms of law than computers, but a programming position would be much more likely than one in law. Unfortunately, today's society still often thinks of blind persons as "unemployable." That's not true, and computer programming is certainly one field that could help to end such discrimination. If you have any suggestions of persons to contact about employment, please mail them to me at your earliest convenience. Fred Douglis decvax!yale-comix!douglis (uucp) douglis@YALE (arpa)
