We are trying to share one IP-Gateway for multiple zones and have the following problem. When a Telnet session is first started it does not find the gateway unless you are in the same zone as the gateway. Using Peek I see that when the NBP request is sent to bind to the gateway it has a * on the end instead of the Zone name the gateway is in. I've configured MACTCP for localtalk and the zone the gateway is in. We are a class B site using manual adresses ( this should have nothing to do with the problem ) Is any one else out there having the same problem. Also I can fix the problem using Resedit to change Mactcp. I replace the * in the four places in the code with the Zone name of my gateway but the Zone name must only be one character long. ( Apple tells me that changing Mactcp is a No-No ) CHRIS J MCNEIL COMPUTING SERVICES UNIVERSITY OF NEW BRUNSWICK FREDERICTON NB CANADA ----------------
