The MIT Experimental Music Studio is a computer facility located on the
MIT campus doing advanced work in computer music. The Studio is a
leading center for both production of new works and for research in the
medium. We have recently begun a five-year, funded project developing
a personal computer-music workstation featuring high-quality real-time
digital signal processing (at rates of several hundred megaflops)
supported by a musically intelligent user interface.

We are looking for a Unix Wizard / System Manager to take primary
responsibility for continued development, day-to-day operation, and
coordination of maintenance for the several systems at the Studio.
The position will be full-time research staff.	Primary requirements
are experience with C and Unix internals. Other desirable areas of
expertise include:  real-time systems;	networking (i.e. Ethernet);
digital signal processing; ability to design, fabricate, and debug
hardware; graphics; and musical knowledge or experience, particularly
with computer music.

MIT is an affirmative action, equal opportunity employer.
