[comp.protocols.appletalk] Fastpath Error Message

haase@meevax.meediv.lanl.gov (HAASE_PETER_K) (07/26/90)

I have a Fastpath and just upgraded Fastpath Manager to version 5.1

Upon loading all the config info I get the following message in the Log:

PANIC!
Not enough buffers for LTALK RTMP entry!
KFPS AT#220 ET#134 PROM REV 4.1 (88/10/07) STATE=BE A BRDGE HW
STATUS=0

Now I cannot use TCP/IP on the Appletalk side. I can connect to the
VAX Cluster with Appletalk for VMS using Pacerlink. I spoke with
SHIVA but they do not seem to have as good Technical Support as when
Kinnetics was providing it. As a matter of fact I did call them and
I got the Try this and That to no avail......

Looks like it has run itself out of memory. What is it (KFPS 2, 3, 4),
how much memory has it got and what KSTAR are you running?

More serious prob. If it is out of memory (or short) it may drop packets all
over the shop. Run Lan Ranger statistics and see how many buffers it has.
