We are running appletalk with standard Apple Appletalk connectors. The question is: What kind of wire *MUST* be used or doew it really matter (ie is bandwidth considerations really that critical)? Thanks in advance...gww

I believe Appletalk connectors are shielded - and YES, in my experience these kinds of considerations are very important with Appletalk. If you use the wrong kind of wire, you might end up spending a lot of time debugging miscellaneous network problems and wishing you had just used the standard cables. Of course, this all depends on the size of your network (both in total length of wiring and in number of nodes). The larger the network, the more of a nightmare debugging network problems becomes. Check out PhoneNet or a similar product if you haven't already - phone-jack systems seem to have less problems with connections working loose than Appletalk does.
