[comp.protocols.appletalk] Simple mac questions....

rubin@mead.UUCP (Daniel Rubin) (08/03/90)

Hello, this is the frist time I have looked at these newsgroups so if
I am repeating recent questions, opps...

I have four simple questions about the Apple Macintosh...

1) Can a Mac Plus read/write to a Mac SE hard drive through Appletalk or
   some other type of network?

2) Can a Mac SE run assembler programs written for the Mac Plus?

3) I am looking for an automatic phone dialer peripheral where one can
send it a phone number and it will proceed to dial it or one can send
it a hang-up/pick-up message. Is there something that will do this
available or am I going to have to build one myself?

The reason that I am asking these questions is because I need to create
a network consisting of two computers that will be able to update the
same hard drive data base and run the same software. I am throwing around
several ideas and a Mac SE w/40meg HD and a Mac Plus w/basics connected by
Appletalk is one.

Please reply by email since I do not keep up with these newsgroups.
My current email address is mead!rubin@uccba.uc.edu, but since we are
converting over to a usenet connection my new email address will be
uucp!mead!rubin Monday August 6.

Thanks in advance.
