I have replaced what I regarded as an alpha of the Sun Ethertalk support a beta version. It now has updated man pages and other documentation, and it's gotten a bit of use. There are a couple of bug fixes, one of which fixes a problem that made access to printers not work. Binaries are for sun4's. The code has also been tested on a Sun 3, though only a slightly older edit. README.RUTGERS.FIRST explains how to install it. Like the alpha version, this one is designed to work with the Ethernet packet filter. If for some reason you can't install it in your kernel, I also supply code to use /dev/nit. However I'm not sure what the performance implications of using /dev/nit with this code. You might be better off using UAB. The files are on athos.rutgers.edu, pub/etalk.tar.Z and pub/enet.shar When retrieving etalk.tar.Z, don't forget to use binary mode in FTP.
