Dear Aunty Appletalk, we have just changed to a class B network and I have reconfigure our FastPaths and Aufs. 22.23 N2 141.241.12.0 BigMac #appletalk-in-IP 11.10 K 141.241.12.1 BigMacOffice #kbox1, localtalk I141.241.63.255 L0 #ipbroad ipname I141.241.14.1 I141.241.14.7 #ipdebug ipfile L0 L0 L0 L0 S0 S0 #ipother atnetet ddprangestart LX2 S0 S30 #flags ipstatic ipdynamic S11.10 S22.23 #atneta atnete 22.23 N2 141.241.13.0 BigMac #appletalk in IP 11.11 K 141.241.13.1 BigMacLab #kbox2, localtalk I141.241.63.255 L0 #ipbroad ipname I141.241.14.1 I141.241.14.7 #ipdebug ipfile L0 L0 L0 L0 S0 S0 #ipother atnetet ddrangestart LX0 S0 S30 #flags ipstatic ipdynamic S11.11 S22.23 #atneta atnete Question : What should the new atalk.local look like?? As you can see each Fastpath is in its own class b network so the appletalkinIP Zone spans 141.241.12.0 and 141.241.13.0 (is this ok?). Now, the Unix administration host and the machines I wish to run Aufs on are all in another network: 141.241.14.0. The above configuration seems to work for kip but the problem arises in the atalk.local file on the hosts running aufs: How do I specify the appletalk node numbers for the Aufs server (141.241.14.7), the host running 'atis' (141.241.14.1) and the nearest bridge (141.241.13.1). Using the last byte of the IP address makes the node numbers the same for the both bridge and the atis host. What zone are the hosts in, that belong to net 141.241.14.0 ? I first assumed that the new node numbers would have to be like 13.1 or 14.1 but this wont work. yours, Confused, Kingston Polytechin. UK.
