A position is available within the Computer Research
Laboratory of the corporate Applied Research Laboratories of
Tektronix:
Duties:
Participate as a member of a team researching and
developing system level digital architectures for advanced
computer graphic systems. Provide major technical leader-
ship in the design and implementation of highly parallel
VLSI architectures. Contribute to the development of
advanced design methodologies needed to handle complex
chips. Design and implement prototypes demonstrating the
feasibility of new VLSI architectures and new design
approaches. Develop and maintain nation-wide contacts with
other research organizations and interact heavily with other
Tektronix groups to transfer appropriate research results to
practical product applications.
Qualifications:
PhD in EE or CS with emphasis in relevant areas of sys-
tems and VLSI design, or equivalent industrial experience.
Proven ability to contribute significant results in a
research environment. Specific experience in computer
architecture development and integrated circuit design.
Experience desired in some of the following: CAD tool
design, computer graphics, software engineering. Requires
very effective inter-personal communications and negotia-
tions skills.
