It's simple to explain what the problem is, however, the solution may be a bit harder... We've got 2 mac fx's. Both are hooked up to a laserwriter plus via appletalk. Both have ethernet cards, hooked up to our Sun fileservers and other machines. Problem is, we've got printers on the Unix side of the world that we'd love to have access to. From all I've heard and read, you need to have an AppleTalk <-> Ethernet gateway in order to do this, yes? Note that one of the fx's is fairly dedicated to A/UX 2.0, which might throw an interesting twist in things. Oh, and while I'm tossing questions into the ring, we've also got a lowly Mac Plus on our 3-node appletalk net. Any possible way to use the fx running A/UX as a gateway between appletalk and ethernet, so it too can get to the Unix printers? Any/All answers gratefully appreciated! --Chan Chan Wilson SRI Intl.
