We have recently started using Cayman GatorBoxes to provide wide area tcp/ip services to Macintosh networks. Caymon Boxes also have interesting AppleTalk routing possibilities. My inadequate knowledge of Appletalk routing is probably causeing some problems. I would appreciate any pointers to help me learn enough to solve the following problems. I have a departmental network which includes two appletalk networks bridged with a D.C. Hayes interbridge. I hooked up two cayman boxes, one to each appletalk segment and told them to listen only to a third appletalk segment in my office area. The departmental network started having problems with other network zones not appearing reliabily in client choosers. This is a particular problem in the case where the departmental users are trying to reach departmental assets on the other physical appletalk segment. Other reported problems in this department include. Microsoft mail "freezes" a user machine for up to a minute when notifying clients of mail delivery. Laserwriter printing is sometimes unreliable. Please reply directly to me. Due to machine problems, netnews is approx. 1 week behind at miammi. My mail addresses are: js05staf at miamiu BITNET js05staf at miamiu.acs.muohio.edu INTERNET Thanks.
