I realise that this has little to do with the province of this mail group but I assume that there must be quite a few mac programmers out there. I want to start programming the mac using C and preferably C++. This is because a. i want to use C so I concentrate on one language, whether using Macs or Unix b. I want to learn Object Oriented Programming and once again ideally would like to learn one language with one standard Of course these are ideals and may not be practical when it comes to the pragmatics of cost and learning curves. There seem to be two choices. 1. Use MPW with c/c++ and perhaps MacApp 2. Use Think C. what are the advantages of using each? when using MPW with C is MacApp neccessary/desirable ? Think C is alot cheaper but does it offer real object-oriented C and is it based on the C++ release 2.0 standard? How do the learning curves of each compare ? Any views would be appreciated thanks simon lucas computing officer kingston polytechnic uk
