The Digital Equipment Corp. UNIX Engineering Group has openings for software engineers to work on DEC's UNIX products. Candidates should have at least 2 years of UNIX and C experience. We are looking for both kernel and non-kernel people (non-kernel people includes compiler/assembler people, network types, editor/shell people, documentation experts and people to explain it all to neophytes). There are positions for people who can chase down and fix bugs as well as for people to do advanced development. You will have the opportunity to work with new hardware (systems, cpu's, as well as peripherals) at various stages of development. Experience with Berkeley VMUNIX and/or Bell's Version 7 are a plus. Experience with DEC hardware would be helpful though not necessary. (For those of you who do not know DEC, we make the VAXen and PDP-11's.) These positions require drive and initiative, the ability to work well on a team, the ability to develop software within deadlines when required and the ability to document one's code. We are located in the country-like settings of tax-free southern New Hampshire, only about 50 minutes driving (normal speeds) from Boston. Note that there are also software support positions in our Support Center in Colorado Springs, Co. If you are interested, please respond with a resume or something like it describing your experience to decvax!steil or via U.S. Snail to Gil Steil Digital Equipment Corp.
