I've recently installed CAP/AUFS here, and I'm experiencing a few problems. I'm trying to work with unix TEXT files, and the results so far are not pleasing... If I start EDIT 2.0d1, and open one of the unix files, the file server appears to send the information across, but after the transfer finishes, EDIT shows no data. EDIT can create new files, and they appear to be stored correctly on the host, but shows an empty page when they are read back. To complicate things, copying one of these files (either created by UNIX, or by edit) with the finder, gets you the message: The file "file_name" couldn't be read and was skipped (unknown error). and thus throws away the file. MacWrite/Word can read and update the files correctly, and while I can live without EDIT, it would be nice to copy files using the finder... I'm running on a Mac II with 2Mb of memory, finder 6.0/system 4.2, talking to AUFS on a Pyramid. Has anyone seen this before, have I overlooked something really simple, and (most importantly) can it be fixed? -- Tharen D. We just installed Aufs on our Unix BSD 4.3 box. We have been running CAP for some time to print to laserwriters and such. Our problem is that we cannot read or write on the Unix side through the Finder. We can however create a "New Folder" on the Unix side. We are running Aufs with the following config: Configured: FLOCK Configured: LOCKF Configured: Volume space informations: statfs Configured: SUN quota system Contigured: translation table are: ascii: xlate on: suffix <any> and file type TEXT etc... The computer we have is s Solbourne series 5 which is a SPARC system. Thanks for any help you can give me -- Brian Glaeske - /| glaeske@plains.NoDak.edu [Internet] o.O` --Ooop ACK!! glaeske@plains [BITNET ] =(___)= ..!uunet!plains!glaeske [UUCP ] U "Bloom County Forever!!"
