I just read an article (re: LocalTalk LaserWriters) in which someone mentioned a product from Dayna called EtherPrint which would put a LaserWriter directly onto an ethernet segment. The guy didn't seem to know any of the details, so I'm asking everybody :-) o Are there any other products doing this sort of thing? o What hardware & software is involved? o What is the cost? OK, now how about in Australian dollars? o Is there an Australian distributor? It seems to me that the usefulness of this product depends on its price and on how many LaserWriters you've got. If, for argument's sake, EtherPrint costs ~$1000/LW and a Multigate/KBox/GBox costs ~$4000, then it's cost-effective to get EtherPrint for up to 3 LWs. However, if you have four or more LWs then you may as well get a Multigate. Any info would be greatly appreciated. -- Steven Ball, Department of Computer Science, ANU E-mail: steve@anucsd.anu.oz.au Ph.
