The Research and Development Group at System Development Corporation/a Burroughs Company in Paoli, Pennsylvania (outside Philadelphia) has an immediate opening for a Computer Facilities Manager. The Computer Facilities Manager will be responsible for supervising day-to-day operation of SDC/Paoli's computing center, which includes a VAX-11/780 running 4.1bsd Unix, 3- and 10-mb Ethernets, Lisp Machines, VLSI workstations, Burroughs minicomputers, and a user community of approximately fifty people. Duties will include planning and coordination of purchasing, maintenance, installation, and user services; knowledge of systems programming concepts is desirable. The applicant's educational background should include a degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
