[comp.protocols.appletalk] Rutgers CAP -- where and why?

lynch@theory.tn.cornell.edu (Tim Lynch) (10/16/90)

I notice a lot of references to Rutger's version of CAP. Can
someone point out to me why Rutger's version is preferred?
(I've been away from this group for several months.) Also,
where is it located?

Thanks.

Rutgers CAP don't need any Kinetics box : Unix host understand
Appletalk packets, without any encapsulation. It's a good
way to connect Mac and Unix, when Mac are directly on ethernet.

Bugs:
Rutgers CAP (like all CAP programs) don't speak Phase 2
