Those of us running multiprotocol networks with a Unix-based network management station are increasingly in need of protocol-specific tools for looking at non-IP protocols from the NMS. Does anyone know of any tools that run on a generic Unix platform (e.g. a Sun4 with Rutgers CAP) for monitoring and controlling Appletalk devices? Public domain preferable, but I'd be interested in commercial offerings too. If commercial offerings, has the vendor worked with any of the vendors of SNMP management stations to integrate their tools into the SNMP manager? I'm interested in tools above the level of packet monitoring tools like etherfind. Typical tools I would find useful include the functionality of Inter-Poll, perhaps a tool for looking at routing tables in Appletalk routers, and AUFS performance analysis tools. -- JQ Johnson Director of Network Services Internet: jqj@oregon.uoregon.edu University of Oregon voice: (503) 346-4394 250E Computing Center bitnet: jqj@oregon Eugene, OR 97403 JQ Johnson voice: 415-723-3078 Manager, Special Projects Internet: jqj@jessica.stanford.edu Networking and Communications Systems Pine Hall Rm 125-A
