Just to add another side to the discussion... I've now called both companies. I asked both companies for an educational sale rep. Told them who I was; what I and my department do (University Computing Services, ie. the central computing organization), and that I wanted to get an eval copy of the software. Here are the responses I got: Wollongong: I've probably called them 10 times in the last month (I'll check my phone bill), getting a voice-mailbox and leaving a message. I've talked to "Donna" once. (And that was only after I transferred back to their receptionist and told her I had called and left messages several times.) She didn't give me the time of day, and still has not called me back like she said she would... it's been about six weeks. InterCon: Called once, talked to Jim Getties. He knew about the discussion in this group, other TCP/IP packages(PD and Commercial), and was generally up to date. He told me about their NFS product, some of their other TCP/IP products. He said he would ship me out an info pack that day, that they would send me a beta of the NFS product in two weeks or so, and do a "formal" eval of all of there mac packages in december. Now, I wonder which company I'd rather deal with??? End of story. Frank Callaham University of Southern California Microcomputer Support frankc@skat.usc.edu These are my opinions not USC's. I just happen to work there...
