#N:uiuccsb:8600001:000:2324 uiuccsb!essick Jul 21 10:51:00 1983 POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT July 15, 1983 TITLE: MANAGER, TEXT PROCESSING SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage the day to day activities of the university's UNIX-based Text Processing Center. This is a professional staff position. Typical duties will include: a) Work with personnel from user offices to provide training and assistance. b) Aid users in developing special applications, formats or programs. c) Administer departmental budgets. d) Perform, as necessary, document entry, editing and output. e) Schedule, supervise and train student staff. QUALIFICATIONS: Two to four years' experience in text processing or related area, including supervisory experience. Candidates must have 65 wpm or better typing ability, and excellent written and verbal communications skills. The ability to manage personnel and resources, and deal effectively with people is required. Bachelor's degree and experience with the UNIX operating system preferred. SALARY: Dependent on qualifications and experience. Compensation includes University fringe benefits.
