I have a File server set up using CAP/AUFS and I have allowed guest logins. I am trying to establish a main file server for the distribution of programs and shareware. The problem is that I would like to log the usage of this file server. The AUFS log contains the net, node and socket number, but since the node number is assigned dynamically there is no way for me to figure who the user was. So, what I would like is a mod that would let me log the user's chooser name. If that isn't possible, then I would like a daemon that runs in the background logging the registered names and the times that they register. That way I could then go to this log and see who had a node number at a given time. By the way, I have another problem. We have a number of Macs with ethertalk cards scattered around the company on our network. One of them has a completely bogus name as the chooser name which print garbage when you do an atlook or use Interpoll or Atview. We would like everyone to use their full names. So how do we track down this one mac without knowing whoose it is? We don't have a registry of which Macs here have ethertalk cards so there is no definitive list. And their are no other names registered with NBP for that Mac.
