If I mount an NFS volume on my mac, can I the publish it with Tops so that all my machines running Tops can use it ? Chris McNeil

I have mounted an AppleShare volume from a Vax (Alisa) on my Mac and then republished it using TOPS. Worked fine. Speed was tolerable even though all of this was done on the LocalTalk side of a FastPath. Also have published a CD-ROM from Mac using TOPS and accessed it from a PC. You'll probably get away with republishing an NFS volume. Seth M Powsner powsner@nlm.nih.gov powsner@yalemed.bitnet

You can definately publish NFS mounted filesystems as TOPS volumes from Suns running TOPS/SUN. You can't go the other way because TOPS/SUN does not support CLIENT Tops. -- Stan internet: sob@bcm.tmc.edu Director, Networking Olan uucp: {rutgers, mailrus}!bcm!sob and Systems Support Barber Opinions expressed are only mine.
