Attached is a problem report we've posted to the Support folks at Cayman Systems. We have the gbox running at version 1.5 of the gbox software. Has anyone encountered a problem like this? Can someone give me some tips on what might be the problem with changing the gbox's network numbers? thanks JoAnn Illuzzi University of Buffalo Problem Description and Possible Solutions or Bypasses 12/6/90 - We reconfigure giallan.geog.buffalo.edu a GatorBox running GatorKeeper 1.4. We're out to reconfig for 3 reasons: - install KIP on the gbox, - renumber the appletalk network numbers to incorporate a campus convention in numbering and - upgrade the version of gatorkeeper in version 1.5. The upgrade of the gbox when ok, but renumbering the appletalk network numbers has created a problem. Note that all nodes in the appletalk net out there using Phase 1 drivers. On the gbox, we went from appletalk network numbers of: 141 on the localtalk side, zone name gial-lt 140 on the ethernet side, zone name gial-et to 14001 on the localtalk side, zone name gial-lt 14002 on the ethernet side, zone name gial-et we download the gbox all goes well. Initially, all zones are visible from ethertalk and localtalk attached devices. However, after 6 minutes, all the gbox configured zones disappear to these Macs, both ethertalk and localtalk attached. When a chooser access is done at this point from a station, the gbox puts out a message to this effect under it's diagnositic screen: ATP response timed out release not received We've tried power cycling all the workstations in the lan, with no luck. I have a call in to Cayman Systems about it! In the interim, I have backed off to the original network numbers and all is 'well'.
