This won't work. MacPathway allows only one user to mount an exported file
system at a time. Yes it uses ip packets( in particular it uses UDP packets
same as all NFS's) . I am using this product.

Note: actually more than one user can mount the same file system if you are not
running the authentication deamon one the server machine. BUT this is big
trouble as your desktop gets screwed up.

I am considering using MacPathwayNFS by Wollongong to allow a group
of Macs to use a SUN Sparcstation as a file server. The Macs are on
ethernet, running MacTCP and NCSA Telnet. The SUNs are also hanging
off the ethernet. Has anyone had any experience with MacPathwayNFS,
good or bad? Does MacPathwayNFS use IP packets to communicate? Our
network administrator will not allow any apple packets on the network.
Any insights on this product would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Do you have any experience with NFS/Share? Does it have the same
limitations of allowing only one user at a time?

Hmm, I hate to do this. We wrote NFS/Share so you will have to currently
take my word for it. I don't think that there are currently users who are
on the net, who can talk about the product. But, yes you can mount the same
mount point by more than one user. We saw this as a useful feature. Hope
this helps.
