Has anyone managed to get CAP (with or without UAB) working on a DECstation? I tried and the stuff builds ok, getzones works, but atlook of any other zone fails and atlook of the station's zone works with basic cap and makes uab dump core when that is running. -- Randy Buckland "It's hard to work North Carolina State University in a group when you're randy@ncsu.edu (919) 737-2517 omnipotent" -- Q

This question has popped up many times in this group. Basically, you have to define the BYTESWAPPED variable in several routines, because the DECstation is a byte-swapped machine, just like the Vax. It is best to start with the CAP distribution from Rutger, which has this and many other bugs taken care of already. Anonymous ftp to rutgers.rutgers.edu (128.6.4.7). I have this running fine on my DECsystem 5810, the binary-compatible server for the DECstations. -Phil Farrell, Computer Systems Manager Stanford University School of Earth Sciences farrell@pangea.stanford.edu
