How do I prevent users from making shared files/applications etc on an Appleshare server locked, or worse, invisible. I've put the files in folders where everyone except myself (the owner) has see files/see folders but not make changes privileges. The Appleshare Volume is on a 3Com 3+Open Server so I gave all users apart from myself just the 'r' privilege from the Lan Manager end. Finally I tried locking the files under OS/2 and under a Dos Window on the server. But still anyone with DiskTop, ResEdit or equivalent can unlock/lock the files at will, and click them invisible, then make them visible again. This is very frustrating, especially as, in a teaching/academic environment such as mine the users (ie. students) will mess things up if they find that there is a loophole. Suggestions please - (anyone out there from 3Com who knows of any forthcoming changes in security on AFP volumes ?)
