[comp.protocols.appletalk] MacIP 4.0 keeps dying!!

moyman@ECN.PURDUE.EDU (James M Moya) (01/23/91)

I have used MacIP 4.0 since it came out a ways back with no problems up
until about 3 days ago. It started dying with "Out of Application memory"
errors. I doubled the application memory to 1024 of MacIP to no avail it
still croaks about every half hour and it's driving me crazy...SO far I
have:

1) Used Disinfectant 2.4 to check my HD
2) Made MacIP app memory to 2048
3) Turned off all cdevs and INITs (I haven't added any new in the last
Month)
4) No more than two terminal sessions at one time
5) Installed system 6.0.7 (was running 6.0.5)
6) Installed MacTCP again
7) Got a new copy of MacIP
8) Started up MacIP in a different order after start-up

After I installed 6.0.7 yesterday it ran the rest of the day with no
problems, it was dead when I came in this morning however (same error). I
have a IIci with 8Megs and 2 monitors (Apple two-page and RGB color). I
usually have MacIP and Eudora running at all times. I have run out of
"sane" things to try...I have a feeling something is corrupting the
finder...about 10-30 minutes after MacIP croaks, the mac freezes up and I
have to reboot.
