Is there anyone out there, who had any experience in using
the MacTCP product between two MACs II ?????
I know it may sound strange ( as TCP/IP normally is used
for communication between Macs and Hosts (as Vax, IBM etc.
and generally is used to connect eterogeneous environments)
but I have to make two Macs II able to talk to each other
over Ethernet, using TCP/IP protocols through and application
program (probably using the MACTCP product (?) or anything else
(?) any idea would be strongly welcomed).
First of all is it possible ? The solution I have thought of
is that the application should be running in every Mac and
should be able to act both as a server and user process for
connections from other Macs. Our goal is to implement something
like the VAX/VMS PHONE utility using TCP/IP between Macs.
Any ideas ?
Secondly, does THINK C Ver. 4.0 supports the calls to the MacTcP
driver.. through the provided libraries and C programming interfaces
or there will be any kind of problems...?
Thirdly, what I need is the Evaluation Kit of MAcTCP..? or anything
else ?
I would prefer personal mail any experienced in such an ocassion would
be strongly appreciated.
Thanks a lot in advance.
