I just bought Liaison 3.0 and tried to install it on a MAC PLUS (I used the two LocalTalk ports for printer and phone). It works fine as a Router ... But it's just not doing what I bought it for! Situation: We have an extended net for administration (several zones). We have also a public room with Macintoshes and printers where students can do their 'homework'. For some purposes we need to couple the two nets. BUT: the students should not be able to access the administrative services. Liaison 3.0 has nice checkboxes in the setup (network services) that allow you to hide one zone from the other. But this has just ABSOLUTELY NO effect. Whatever setup I make (I really tried hard all the permutations; and of course I rebooted after setup changes) ... The Router works perfectly TRANSPARENT, BIDIRECTIONAL !!! What's the reason for the inactive 'hide-checkboxes' ??? Thanx for any help ... bye .................................................................... In regards to problems with the hide feature in Liaison: With version 3.0 it is necessary to re-select which network(s) need to be hidden after restarting. This setting will then last until the router Mac is restarted. Version 3.0.1 fixes this problem. -good luck
